Southern and Central Africa
This region covers the southern part of the continent from West Africa round to East Africa. There is a vast range of peoples, cultures, countries and experiences included in this region. However Africa is always about its wild life and most cruises include the opportunity to experience this at some stage of the itinerary.

Cruise types

Apart from a number of cruises based in South Africa, cruises in this region are generally from the UK or are part of World or extended cruises.

Cruises ex the UK are traditional sea voyages with a limited number of visits to West African ports. They generally return from Cape Town.

World and extended cruises visit a wider range of South African ports as well as West and East African destinations.

Cruise season
Cruises based out of South Africa are now year round and mostly depart Durban. In the southern winter these cruises head northwards towards warmer weather and calmer seas.
World cruises are normally in the November to March period.

Main ports
Africa – Durban, Cape Town and Maputo
World Cruises - Cape Town, Durban, Mauritius, Reunion, Mombasa
